Today I am sharing a variety recipe and almost maximum people prepared this recipe in 'UGADI'. The recipe is 'GREEN MANGO RICE / 'RAW MANGO PULIHORA'.Actually raw mango pulihora is in sour taste and it is rich content of vitamin- C , which helps to improve our immunity.I had already posted  another recipe according to raw mango ,it is raw mango chutney and one more recipe of pulihora with tamarind , if you want that recipies you can read in my previous posts.


Raw mango pulihora or green mango rice preparation is very easy and it is prepared just like lemon rice.The taste of Raw mango pulihora is tangy flavour and the taste is increased with chillies, peanuts, curry leaves and other dals.If boiled white rice is in our home, if there is no curries in home, we can prepare this green mango rice or raw mango pulihora as shown in the below preparation.


LET'S START TO PREPARE GREEN MANGO RICE:

INGREDIENTS :




  • Raw mango - 3 cups [peel the skin,grated raw mangoes 3 cups]
  • Oil - 4 spoons
  • Mustard seeds - 1 spoon
  • Cumin seeds/ jeera - 1 spoon
  • Red chillies - 6
  • Green chillies - 5
  • Bengal gram/ chana dal - 5 spoons
  • Black grams / urad dal -6 spoons
  • Peanuts/ ground nuts - 5 spoons
  • Cashew nuts - 10
  • Ginger - small pieces - 1  1/2 spoon
  • Curry leaves - 4 spoons
  • Asafoetida / inguva - 3 pinches
  • Turmeric powder - 1 small spoon
  • Salt - 1 1/2 spoon
  • White rice - 1/2 KG

PREPARATION OF GREEN MANGO RICE:





  • First of all peel the skin of the mangoes and prepare grated mangoes.
  • Boil the rice and cool it for sometime.
  • Now heat a big vessel add oil, mustard seeds, after tampering add  red chillies, bengal gram, black gram and cumin seeds.





  • Fry it in3 minutes , add cashew nuts, peanuts, giger pieces.
  • Add curry leaves, inguva/ asafotida, turmeric powder.





  • Within 2 minutes add grated raw mango in the vessel add salt also.
  • Roast it for one minute and switch off the stove and cool it for sometime.
  • Now mix the tamper ed raw mango in the white rice properly.If the taste is less sour we can add lemon juice in the pulihora.






Green mango rice or raw mango pulihora is ready to serve and this is a different tangy flavour , easy to preparation and all the ingredients are available in our home.

TAMARIND RICE / PULIHORA Tamarind rice common name is pulihora/ puliyodarai, puliyogare which is a popular rice recipe in south Indian states Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka. Puli means sour in Tamil. Today I am preparing the Andhra style of tamarind rice which is a mouth-watering rice dish. Pulihora made up of tamarind, lemon.
