              Today all over the world majority of people suffering from COVID-19. Many people are panic about thinking about how they get rid of the CORONA virus. Our health is in our hands. Ultimately, it is we who can change our lifestyle, food habits, exercises, etc. Healthy and Hygienic food gives us energy and also improves our immunity power. If we increase our immunity power, our antibodies in our blood can fight against the virus and can destroy the virus. Green leafy vegetables, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, eggs, milk, etc are the best food to increase your immunity power.

              Especially during this corona effect period, we are aware of throat pain, cough, etc and we also know how to control the throat problems. We can drink different types of tea like Lemon tea, Ginger tea, Tulasi tea, Mint tea, Dry ginger tea[SONTI], etc.


              Ginger lemon tea is the best tea to reduce many health problems. Ginger, Lemon, Honey are the main ingredients for the preparation of this tea. Ginger tea is a little bit spicy, which will decrease throat pain, cold, cough, indigestion, constipation, high blood pressure, etc. You can avoid honey especially for those who have diabetics because honey increases the glucose levels in the blood.

Benefits of ginger:-

              Ginger is a rich source of zinc, which helps to secrete insulin and it leads to decrease of glucose levels in the blood. Ginger is also used in ayurvedic medicines. It consists of minerals such as potassium, magnesium, copper. It also decreases gas problems in the stomach.

Benefits of lemon :-

              Lemon is a rich source of Vitamin - C. It acts as an anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and it has anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory. It reduces the digestion problems, blood thickness, heart strokes[lemon helps to make the blood thinner], etc. It is best for weight loss.

Let's start for the preparation of ginger -lemon tea:

Ingredients :-

  • Ginger - 2 spoons[Chopped or Grated]
  • Lemon - 1/2
  • Honey - 1/2 spoon
  • Water - 1 glass

Preparation :-
  • First, peel the ginger and cut it into small pieces.
  • Take a steel vessel add ginger pieces and water.
  • Boil the water at least for 5-8 minutes to extract ginger aroma into the water.
  • Boil the water until half glass water evaporates.
  • Now switch off the stove.
  • Filter the ginger water into a cup.
  • Add 1/2 lemon juice,1/2 spoon honey into the ginger water.
  • Mix the all ingredients well.
  • Spicy Ginger-lemon tea is ready to drink.


This ginger tea is a daily routine tea for our family members during this COVID time. We have stopped to drink tea, coffee during morning and evening timings. I am sharing my practical experience with throat pain and how did I overcome this problem. 

                   During this month, I  got throat pain and gradually family members also felt a little bit of throat pain. Immediately, I have started this Ginger-lemon tea to reduce throat pain. Gradually, my throat pain is decreased along with my family members and I am feeling new energy in my body. Don't use too much of ginger and lemon.

                   I am very happy to share this healthy tea. I will share more homemade healthy tea, drinks to overcome cold, cough, throat infections, etc.

TAMARIND RICE / PULIHORA Tamarind rice common name is pulihora/ puliyodarai, puliyogare which is a popular rice recipe in south Indian states Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka.
