GONGURA PRAWNS CURRY
Gongura is called Red sorrel and it contains rich source of iron. Prawns have nutritional values added to our health.Gongura prawn curry is traditional recipe in Andhra, Thelangana, chennai, karnataka etc states in INDIA.It is so tasty and mouth watering recipe.It is very easy to prepare and all of our family members enjoy this recipe very much.You will also try this recipe at your home and get a plenty of appreciations from your family members.
Let's start to prepare Gongura prawn curry:
Ingredients:
- Prawns-1 kg
- Red sorrel leaves / gongura-{2 cups gongura paste}
- Red chilli powder-3 spoons
- Turmeric powder-1 spoon
- Salt-2 spoons
- Onions -2
- Ginger garlic paste- 2 spoons
- Garam masala- 2 spoons
- Oil-6 spoons
- Sompu/fennel seeds-1/4 spoon
- Cloves- 5
- Jeera/cumin seeds- 1/4 spoon
- coriander leaves- 2
Preparation:
- First clean the prawns thoroughly and boil for ten to fifteen minutes.
- cool the prawns for sometime.
- Roast the gongura with 3 spoons oil at least 5 minutes and make a fine paste into the mixer jar.
- Heat the big vessel and add oil,cloves,sompu, onion-ginger garlic paste and roast it well.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt, garam masala and fry the all the ingredients.
- Add boiled prawns into the curry and cook it for 5 minutes.
- Add gongura paste into the curry.
- Add water into the curry and cook it for 10 minutes.
- yummy and spicy gongura prawn curry is ready to eat with hot steamed rice.
