MUTTON DRUMSTICK CURRY




Mutton Drumstick curry is a very tasty and spicy recipe which is  regular South-Indian dish. Drumsticks enhance the taste of mutton curry and it has so many health benefits to our health.

Lets start to prepare:

Ingredients:
  • Mutton - 1 kg
  • Drumstick - 4
  • Onions - 5
  • Tomatoes - 2
  • Ginger-Garlic paste - 2 spoons
  • Garam Masala - One and a half spoon
  • Red Chilli Powder - 2 spoons
  • Turmeric Powder - 1/2 spoon
  • Salt - One and a half spoon
  • Oil - 6 spoons
  • Curry Leaves - Few 
  • Coriander Leaves - Few
  • Fennel Seeds / Sompu - 1/4 spoon
  • Cumin Seeds / Jeera - 1/4 spoon
  • Cloves - 
  • Elaichi/cardamom - 1
Preparation:
  1. Cut onions into small pieces and place them in a mixer jar to prepare a fine paste.
  2. Heat a big pressure cooker, add oil, cloves, elaichi, fennel seeds, cumin seeds and curry leaves.
  3. After tampering it, add onion paste and roast it until it turns into a brownish colour.
  4. Now, add ginger-garlic paste and roast it for about 5 minutes in a medium flame.
  5. Add cleanly washed mutton, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder.
  6. Close the cooker with a plate and let it cook for 5 to 10 minutes in medium flame.
  7. Add small tomato pieces, garam masala and cook it for 5 minutes.
  8. Pour 1 glass of water and close the cooker with its lid and wait for 3 whistles and switch off the stove.
  9. Wait until the vapour inside the cooker diffuses out.
  10. Now, open the cooker lid and add the drumstick pieces, coriander leaves and 1/4 glass of water.
  11. Gently stir it and place the cooker on the stove in medium flame and wait for 1 whistle.

Delicious Mutton Drumstick Curry is ready to serve...


TIPS:

  •  Mutton takes 3 or 4 whistles to cook according to the cooker we use. Cook for one whistle less and let the pressure inside cooker decrease. Then add drumsticks and cook for one whistle.
  • Adding drumsticks before the last whistle makes mutton and drumsticks cook well.
