ANDHRA SMALL FISH CURRY/
CHINNA CHEPALA PULUSU
South Indian special small fish curry is very famous and delicious. Today I'm preparing Andhra Style Small Fish Curry in my way of preparation. It is very easy to prepare and I'm using raw mango in this recipe it enhance the taste of the small fish curry.
Small fish are more available in rainy season. Small fish curry is expensive in restaurants. Different varieties of small fish are available in rainy season, so we can make this small fish curry very easy in our home and most amazing thing is that breast feeding women must eat this small fish curry why because it increases the milk in women for their months babies.This small fish have rich source of anti-oxidants and breast feeding women must eat this curry, there is no cholesterol, healthy food for any age of people.Elders can also eat this small fish curry.This is mouth watering recipe.
LET'S START TO PREPARE SMALL FISH CURRY:
INGREDIENTS:
- Small fish - 1 kg
- Onions - 2
- Tomatoes 2
- Tamarind - 70 gm
- Raw mango - 1
- Turmeric powder -1/2 spoon
- Red chili powder -3 or 4 spoons
- Salt - 2 spoons
- Pulusu masala powder - 1/2 spoon
- Coriander - 2 spoons
- Curry leaves -1 spoon
- Oil- 5 spoons
- Mustard seeds - 1/2 spoon
- Cumin seeds/ jeera - 1/4 spoon
- Fenugreek seeds/ menthulu - 1/2 spoon
- Coriander seeds - 1 spoon
- Cumin seeds/ jeera - 1/2 spoon
- Menthulu/ Fenugreek seeds -1/4 spoon
- Heat a vessel add all above ingredients and roast it for three / four minutes, cool it for some time and make a fine powder,pulusu masala powder is ready.
- First of all clean the fish properly.
- Cut the onions, tomatoes.
- Make thick tamarind paste water.
- Heat a vessel add oil,Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Fenugreek seeds and fry for one minute, after tampering add onions and roast it for brown colour.
- Add curry leaves, tomatoes and fry it for two minutes.
- Add tamarind extract water,salt, turmeric powder,red chilli powder and close the lid for boiling water.
- After boiling the tamarind extractwater add fish pieces one by one carefully.
- Add coriander leaves and close the lid, cook it for ten minutes in medium flame.
- Don't use the spatula.
- Just open the lid, shake the vessel round.
- Add pulusu masala powder in it and close the lid ,cook for another ten minutes in medium flame.
- Every five minutes just shake the vessel only, don't use spatula.
- Now add five pieces of raw mango ,if you want add salt or red chilli powder as per your taste.
- Close the lid and cook it for five minutes in medium flame.
- When ever the fish curry get thick then switch off the stove.
- After five minutes we can serve the small fish curry.
- Tasty and easy Andhra Style small fish curry is ready to serve with hot rice.
- If you prepare this curry today, tomorrow the fish curry taste will amazing.
- We can preserve this recipe for two days.
- The next day the curry taste will increased.
- Don't take time above half an hour.
- Don't use spatula.
