Today I want to share special fish recipe, it is very famous and tasty recipe. Most of the people know about the fish called Snakehead murrel, native of south-east Asia. The scientific name of the fish is  Channa striata. It is called KORAMEENU in telugu language. Murrel is high cost especially in states like Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Assam, UP and Haryana. 


Korameenu or murrel fish recipe is very tasty and making process is also very easy. We will add raw mango pieces to enhance the taste of this murrel fish curry. We can prepare different varieties of recipes with this korameenu or murrel fish like korameenu pulusu, korameenu fry etc,. Today I'm sharing delicious korameenu pulusu in my own way of preparation. I think all of the readers have mouth watering. 


LET'S START TO PREPARE KORAMEENU PULUSU:

INGREDIENTS: 


  • Korameenu Fish/Murrel Fish - 1kg


  • Tamarind - 200gms

  • Onions - 2


  • Tomatoes - 2


  • Red chili powder - 2 & 1/2 spoons(as per your taste)
  • Turmeric powder- 1/2 spoon
  • Salt - 1 & 1/2 spoons 
  • Raw Mango pieces - 6
  • Pulusu powder - 1/2 spoon
  • Oil - 6 spoons
  • Curry leaves - 1 spoon



  • Coriander leaves - 2 spoons



PREPARATION OF PULUSU POWDER:
  • Coriander seeds - 1 spoon 
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 spoon 
  • Fenugreek seeds / menthulu - 1/4 spoon



Heat the vessel add above all  ingredients and roast it in low flame for 5 mins and cool it for sometime, make a fine powder with the help of mixture jar.

PREPARATION OF MURREL FISH OR KORAMEENU PULUSU:

  • First of all clean the fish properly.
  • Cut the onions, tomatoes.
  • Heat a vessel add oil, Mustard seeds, cumin seeds, Fenugreek seeds. 


  • After tampering, add onion pieces, curry leaves and roast it for 3 mins. 



  • Add tomato pieces and roast it for two - three minutes.



  • Now add tamarind pulp water, Salt, Red chilli powder, turmeric powder and close the lid.




  • After boiling the tamarind water, then add fish pieces, coriander leaves, close the lid cook it in medium flame. 



  • Every five minutes just shake the vessel. Don't use spatula why because the fish pieces will break.
  • After fifteen minutes add pulusu powder into the curry.



  • Close the lid ,cook it for fifteen minutes.
  • Now add Raw Mango pieces into the curry and cook it for five minutes.
  • Pulusu or curry became thick then switch off the stove.
  • Tasty and delicious korameenu pulusu or murrel fish curry is ready to serve.
  • This curry is best combination with hot steamed rice.
  • This korameenu pulusu is very tasty at next day.




Fish have anti-oxidants and vitamins also. Korameenu Fish is available in rainy season so try this korameenu pulusu at your home and enjoy with your family members.

TAMARIND RICE / PULIHORA Tamarind rice common name is pulihora/ puliyodarai, puliyogare which is a popular rice recipe in south Indian states Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka.
